THE TOUR

The 9-Day Tour is the perfect amount of time to really soak up the best of Turkey and requires just 4 days' leave from work thanks to Easter. The 9 days gives you a chance to truly experience Turkey at its best. The tour kicks off in Istanbul where we have an opening night party to get to know your fellow travellers plus plenty of time to explore the streets of Istanbul and look at rugs and stuff (...which there is NO shortage of).

After exploring Istanbul we head to what we all came for: Gallipoli. You will spend a good day wandering around and exploring the surprisingly small battlefields and the key locations where the Kiwi and ANZAC spirit was born. We then settle in for a night under the stars at ANZAC Cove getting set for the dawn service and then the memorial service at Chunuk Bair (The Australian service is at Lone Pine). PLEASE note that we do not encourage anyone to bring any alcohol to Gallipoli - it's a place that commands a huge amount of respect and is not the place to party, please keep this in mind. There is plenty of time to do that in Istanbul before and after our visit to the Gallipoli Battlefields.

We then make our way to Kusadasi, Ephesus, Pampukkale and Bursa where you will get a chance to wander round some of the ancient surviving cities on Earth...doesn't sound much in writing but you have to see it to take in just how salty and ancient these cities were. With markets galore (bigger than Victoria Park Market and even Otara!) you can pick up some great bargains which may not last longer than the trip home...but they are cheap! This is also a chance to take on a good ole Turkish bath and get all those aches and pains removed... or inflicted. Or if it's all too much just a chance to laze around the pool and relax for a couple of days at the coastal town of Kusadasi.

Note: An extra night's accommodation at either the start of end of the tour is £45 pppn for a single room and £28 for a twin share pppn
