The Godfather and Kev are excited and parked up in the hallowed concrete of the NZ Cricket Museum’s archive room on Day 1 of the Basin Reserve test between NZ and Sri Lanka, surrounded by a cornucopia of cricketing memorabilia and miscellany.
There is a bombardment of Emails from Around the World – they talk about Brendon McCullum, cricket songs, abuse, flasks of tea and the stuff that “dreams are made of”. They also discuss the impossibility of international cricket at Whangamata, hat-tip Sir Richard and Sir Garfield then head off to watch the toss.
